DIGI_TAL is a proposal which deals with the global challenges contemporary cities are facing. Creating an efficient, concentrated neighbourhood that is equipped with all necessities, while also catering for a plethora of leisure, relaxation, and cultural activities embedded in nature. The aim is to strengthen the connection between urban spaces and nature, between work and leisure, and between necessities and recreational activities. “Biophilic architecture” is gradually being implemented into reality and will not remain a theoretical construct. The project aims to produce no carbon footprint throughout its lifespan, especially during its construction, while the overall concept focuses on a sustainable approach: materials are recycled and built in a modular system to be reused and fully adhere to a cradle-to-cradle design.
